Sunday School Lessons - The Armor Of God

This is a great Sunday school lesson for young children because it teaches not only an important message, but also includes a fun job and a new song with actions that children learn! Using Ephesians 6:11, Armor of God lesson children leave the class excited about the power of God's love.

Bible Lesson

Start class by reading Ephesians 6:11, "Put on the armor of God so that you can stand against the wiles of the devil." If children are old enough, you need to practice looking at the verses in the Bible and read it yourself.

Read Ephesians 6:10-11. Start the discussion by speaking of the royal armor. Ask students how the armor and he was accustomed. Then discuss what the Bible means by the following questions "the whole armor of God."

What is the spiritual armor, and why do we need?

Why we fight when we put on the armor of God?

Should we be afraid when we go into this fight?

How God helps us in our spiritual warfare?

How should we use our spiritual armor in our daily lives - at home, at church and at school?

Teachers should emphasize that God is always there to help us. He guides us in our daily struggles, and he gives us the tools to fight the evil around us.

Art

Then ask students to use construction paper, crayons, markers, glue, glitter, son, and stickers to decorate the armor of God. Older children can create helmets, shields, belts and swords on their own, but for young children, the teacher should probably cut materials in advance and only the color of children.

Once the materials are ready to remind the students that each piece of armor means they have developed:

The belt of truth not only our arms, but keeps us connected to what is true: Jesus.

The shield of faith protects us from the arrows of our enemy, like our faith protects us from the temptations of evil.

Helmet of salvation saves our heads of damage and saves us from eternal suffering.

Sword of Truth is a powerful weapon, which is the word of God

Music time

Conclude Sunday school song "I'm in the army of the Lord." Teach children to follow these actions with the following verses:

"I can never in the infantry in March," March in place.

"Walk of chivalry:" Imagine riding their horses.

"Shoot the artillery," use their hands to pretend to shoot guns.

"I can never fly over the enemy:" extend their arms and pretend to fly like an airplane.

"But I'm in the army of the Lord," pointing to himself with their thumbs.
